How does this issue affect you or your community?

Alex Luu: Understanding the Asian American and queer diasporas in America is important to me. It helps me understand myself in my identities and gives me a foothold so that I can continue to help such communities. By educating myself, I can also educate others. Because many folks within the Asian American and queer communities lack nuance and perspective on each others' intersecting aspects, I want to share my own personal experiences to shed light on those issues. Furthermore, I want to start and follow up on necessary conversations, which I hope will lead to a new level of acceptance and understanding.
