SRL Winter Academy: Artists Explore Climate Change and Social Justice

Support Provided By

The “Breath(e)” exhibition at UCLA’s Hammer Museum features 25 international artists exploring the intersection of climate change and social justice. The show features photography, sculpture, paintings and multimedia installations. SRL students spoke to Sonja Cayetano, the museum’s educational programs assistant, who voiced part of the audio guide. She discusses one of the artists and explains why the effects of climate change are inextricably linked to social justice.

The traveling exhibition is now moving to Rice University in Houston, and later to UC Davis. This piece was produced by Maya Morton, Nico Fischer, and Brooklyn Rudd, with support from Marie Cusick and Jasmine Mendez.
