Located within Chinatown's Chung King Road, The Jade Tree, with its clean modernist look and typography, has been family owned and operated since 1943 and continues to sell hard to find, oriental antiques to the discerning collector. The irony however, according to Siu Lee, is the provenance of today's collectors; nowadays their clients travel from China to bring antiques back to the mainland, revealing the complex nature of our transnational global culture, the politics behind migration and the business of antiques.
