Your Turn to Care
Caregiving Is My Life
Her average day of caregiving starts at 6am and often does not end until 10pm. Gunn Leater is also a recovering alcoholic who is committed to her hard-won sobriety despite the stress and exhaustion of caregiving. She gets a small dose of respite when her father attends a local adult day health care center three days a week. But state budget cuts may put an end to the Medi-Cal payments that have made those weekly visits possible. Through it all, Gunn is buoyed by her deep love for her father and family and her faith.
