About LACMA
Committed to showcasing a multitude of art histories, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art exhibits and interprets works of art from new and unexpected points of view that are informed by the region’s rich cultural heritage and diverse population.

About the Artist
Betye Saar (b. 1926, Los Angeles) is one of the most talented artists of her generation. She has only recently garnered the attention her talents deserve, however, no doubt largely because she is a black woman who came of age in the 1960s outside of New York City.
