Will the Academy Awards go Virtual? | Apr. 2

On the April 2 episode of “SoCal Update,” Hollywood loves to rewrite screenplays but now even the Academy Awards producers are overhauling the pandemic script for this year’s Oscars. KPCC Arts and Entertainment Reporter John Horn shares the latest.

The awards ceremony was originally the first during the pandemic to require in-person attendance on April 25. The academy loosened its Zoom ban this week by creating 20 remote broadcast locations for nominees to attend.
