Fires, Census | September 15
On the September 15 edition of the Reporter Roundup, KPCC reporters discuss the Bobcat Fire, a lawsuit to stop the Census from ending early and Proposition 15.
The Bobcat Fire, which is 3% contained, continues burning through the San Gabriel Mountains and has forced evacuations in Arcadia and Sierra Madre. Jacob Margolis reports why firefighters are concerned about its approach to Mt. Wilson.
Caroline Champlin has been following a lawsuit filed by the City of Los Angeles and some nonprofits trying to undo the administration's push to end the Census early.
If passed, Proposition 15 would tax corporate and business properties based on market value, changing the landmark Proposition 13 tax law passed in 1978. David Wagner has an update. (Learn more about Prop. 15 and all other propositions on your ballot with KCET’s “Ballot Brief” videos and printable guide.)
