How to Catch a Black Hole, Explained
Last week, a team of astronomers met in Tucson to discuss ambitious plans to see the unseeable. Using data pulled from several ground-based telescopes and pieced together with a supercomputer, the plan is to the first-ever image of a black hole. Shep Doeleman of MIT's Haystack Observatory, one of the minds behind the mission, explains.
