It's not as simple as you may think. Cats, while certainly a part of our everyday lives (and everyday Youtube viewing,) are among the most feared and revered creatures on the planet. With nearly 40 different species, thriving in almost any environment, the cat is the greatest predator since the dinosaurs, but one may be sleeping on the foot of your bed right now!
Nature on PBS is taking us on a journey across the globe to track down the origins of the common house cat. From the rainforest to the savannah; from mountain peaks to your local adoption shelter; this two-part series explores why cats are so fascinating.
The Story of Cats premieres November 2 at 8 p.m.
