Memories of the March
Young Minds Set on Freedom
Teens and adults traveled by bus from New Bern, NC to Washington, DC to attend the March. This group remembers the oppression of segregation, being emboldened by Dr. King, how they overcame swelling fear that had intensified following recent incidents of violence against civil rights activists, and the deep satisfaction of finally taking action to better life for themselves and their people.
