Fighting for Civil Rights from Wilson to Washington

A native of Wilson, NC and son of a civil rights leader, U.S. Rep. G. K. Butterfield, describes segregated Wilson during his boyhood and his desire to see a change for blacks. Rep. Butterfield is best known for his successful litigation of voting rights cases and explains the importance of the March as a prelude to the Voting Rights Act.
