Leonardo da Vinci
Leonardo da Vinci’s Adoration of the Magi
Leonardo da Vinci starts working on the Adoration of the Magi. To prepare, he sits in the piazzas of Florence, quietly observing and sketching. In one preparatory drawing, he uses dozens of perspective lines to create an intricate three-dimensional setting. A riveting scene begins to emerge, unlike any Adoration ever painted. But less than a year later, Leonardo abandoned the work.
