Door of Freedom

What if a grandpa tells his grandson a fairytale in order to explain the inner issues of the refugee crisis? The narration starts with a father who is forced to send his little son away, in order to save him from the war. He gets equipped with a compass and three magical items he has to use to reach his final goal, a wooden door that keeps his treasure. On his journey the little boy has to overcome several obstacles, but the final one should be the biggest barrier, no one had considered already at the beginning. A story, a drama, seen through the eyes of a child, but so real that only adults should be confronted with such issues. A serious crisis, packed into a fairytale that creates a paradox world that is truly sad. Student Filmmaker: Bianca Weber
