Water Reclamation Park
Play the L.A. River is a come-one-come-all project by the arts collective Project 51 -- a collective of L.A. River-loving artists, designers, planners, writers, educators -- that invites Angelenos to explore, enjoy, reclaim, and reimagine the mighty L.A. River as a grand civic space that can green and connect our communities.

An interpretive mini-park that tells you how the L.A.-Glendale plant treats, reuses, and releases 16.5 million gallons of water daily. Wow.
Located on the east bank of the L.A. River (on the other side from the bike trail), his important water plant serves communities in the east San Fernando Valley, providing reclaimed water for irrigation and industrial processes. Their work results in the conservation of over one billion gallons of potable water per year. You can easily get here from the popular North Atwater Park, as you go through the new riverside greenway lined with beautiful native vegetation including California Buckwheat, Flannel Bush, Black Cottonwood and California Poppies. There's a proposed plan to include the two sites as part of one big, 25 acre park, dubbed Griffith Park on the East Bank of the Los Angeles River. If this plan becomes a reality, this community may no longer be considered "park poor," and that can only be a good thing.
