As the City Engineer of the City of Los Angeles, Gary Lee Moore is heavily involved with the plan to revitalize the Los Angeles River. Moore guides the Bureau of Engineering in its collaborations with city officials, architecture firms and other community members. The 20-year initiative to transform the Los Angeles River includes improvements to its ecology and wildlife, preservation of its flood control features, the creation of parks and public access to the river bank, and, finally, to foster community pride and awareness of the Los Angeles River.
