Richmond: Unity in Community
A collection of footage taken during a Facebook live community discussion back in January, the Unity in Community event was part of a collective day of action in Richmond. Our event focused on creating a space for dialog and collective visioning on how we define unity and how we as a community want to advocate for adults and families in accessing health care, creating economic opportunity, and building lasting multi-cultural power. The event featured many guest speakers. The video features Contra Costa County District Supervisor John Gioia, CCISCO Community Organizer Nancy Ybara, Program Director of the Safe Return Project Tamisha Walker, and members of the community providing their input and perspective on the discussion.
The Power of Stories is an archive of projects submitted every year to Building Healthy Communities (BHC) Statewide Convening. It showcases work created throughout California highlighting the power of individual and collective efforts to promote health and demonstrates how stories have the power to re-imagine and transform our communities. Produced in partnership with the California Endowment.
