Coachella Students Fight to Achieve Educational Goals Through Plays
In the Coachella Valley Unified School District, positive discipline and intentional relationships fostered through Restorative Justice have the ability to make substantial change in the amount of students that stay in school and ultimately graduate. Efforts to garner support and expand the conversation about Restorative Justice and positive school discipline to community members led to the creation of this video. Cornerstone Theater was invited to work with the community in the Eastern Coachella Valley to create two plays that address injustices that students face and how alternative models of discipline can enhance empathy and keep students in the classroom.
