North Carolina - Voter Fraud Vs. Vote Suppression
When the state legislature passed a tough photo ID law that knocked 300,000 voters off the rolls, Rev William Barber and Moral Mondays mounted mass protests and filed suit. A federal court struck down the photo ID law saying it targeted black voters “with almost surgical precision.” In 2018, Republicans got voters to adopt photo ID as an amendment to the state constitution, and the fight rages on.
