Artbound Named Best Arts & Culture Site in L.A.
Last night, Artbound was presented with the L.A. Weekly 2012 Web Award in the category: Best Arts & Culture Site. This award is a testament to the hard work of our editorial team and production crew, as well as our partners and contributors. Together, we are exploring the role that art has in our community and discovering Southern California's cultural DNA in new and unexpected ways.
L.A. Weekly said the following about why Artbound was given top honors:
It's easy to see why our judges loved this website, created by local indie TV station KCET. On one recent visit, we found everything from a story about origami to a defense of embattled MOCA director Jeffrey Deitch and the idea of art as entertainment. Writes one judge, "The sheer amount of territory covered by KCET's Artbound is admirable." Adds another, "Who said 'public' and 'local' were over? Artbound curates the best and most offbeat the city of L.A. has to offer."
Thank you, L.A. Weekly and judges, and thanks to all that have participated and made this series so damn fun to produce.
