"3 Miles An Hour" invites viewers into the Bob Marshall Wilderness in western Montana to meet legendary backcountry outfitter Arnold "Smoke" Elser. Elser considers "three miles an hour" — the walking speed of a horse — the best way to see and savor life. The documentary combines rare access to one of the largest wilderness areas in the lower 48 states with vintage home movies from backcountry trips and historic photographs to capture Elser's passion for, and connection to, the outdoors.
