MASTERPIECE Mystery! Fan Favorite 'Miss Scarlet' To Deliver Early Streaming Release of Season Five For PBS SoCal Fans With PBS Passport

Los Angeles, Calif. – Nov. 25, 2024 – PBS SoCal, Southern California’s flagship PBS organization, has announced that an early streaming release of MASTERPIECE “Miss Scarlet” Season five will be available for PBS Passport viewers beginning on Sun., Dec. 8, 2024 at 12 a.m. PT. PBS Passport is a member benefit that gives eligible donors and supporters access to an on-demand library of PBS programming. “Miss Scarlet” Season five will have its broadcast premiere on Sun., Jan. 12, 2025 at 8 p.m. PT on MASTERPIECE on PBS, immediately before the new season premiere of MASTERPIECE’s “All Creatures Great and Small” at 9 p.m. PT. Actress Kate Phillips (“Wolf Hall,” “The Crown”) will return as Miss Eliza Scarlet for a fifth season of investigations and the series has been retitled “Miss Scarlet.” This season, Miss Scarlet will be joined by a new Scotland Yard detective, Inspector Alexander Blake, played by Tom Durant-Pritchard.
In the new season, Eliza’s agency is thriving and her professional life is on a successful path. On the personal side, however, Duke has now been away in New York for several months and Eliza is forced to make a difficult decision. Meanwhile, a new Detective Inspector comes to Scotland Yard and Eliza must navigate building a relationship with him if she’s going to continue having access to police resources. “Miss Scarlet” will welcome back many cast members from previous seasons, including Evan McCabe as Detective Fitzroy, Cathy Belton as Ivy, Felix Scott as Patrick Nash, Paul Bazely as Clarence, Simon Ludders as Mr. Potts and Tim Chipping as Detective Phelps.
Created by Rachael New, the series is written by Rachael New and Ben Edwards. The Executive Producers are Harvey Myman, Susanne Simpson, Jin Ishimoto, Patrick Irwin, Patty Lenahan Ishimoto and Rachael New. The Irish co-producer is Jim Duggan, Serbian co-producer Anđelija Vlaisavljević and the Senior Series Producer for MASTERPIECE is Erin Delaney. The directors for season five are Ivan Zivkovic and Milos Kodemo. "Miss Scarlet" is a Miss Scarlet Limited production co-produced with MASTERPIECE in association with Other Mans Shoes and Work in Progress with pre-investment from UKTV. Season Five will air on BBC First in Holland and Belgium in 2025.
