Los Angeles, Calif. – Mar. 8, 2022 – KCET, showcasing the best of PBS while being the leading source for arts, culture and news in Southern California, announced the airdates of the long-awaited latest seasons of the UK’s popular TV crime dramas DEATH IN PARADISE and FATHER BROWN. Starting Mon., April 4 KCET’s Monday night lineup will kick off at 8 p.m. PT with the first of ten episodes of the long-awaited season 11 of DEATH IN PARADISE, the fan-favorite series that follows DI Neville Parker as he continues to investigate mysterious murders on the idyllic Caribbean Island of Saint Marie. Then at 9 p.m. PT, KCET viewers can catch season nine of the beloved titular crime-solving drama FATHER BROWN for another season of charming countryside mysteries under the watchful eye of a kindly cleric.
The new season of British-French crime drama television series DEATH IN PARADISE follows the previous season finale’s dramatic cliffhanger as DI Neville Parker (Ralf Little of The Royle Family) confronts DS officer Florence Cassell (Joséphine Jobert of Division9) and confesses his romantic feelings as their call fails. As Neville quickly learns his ineptness for cases pertaining to the heart, the Saint Marie team investigates even more puzzling occurrences in Season 11. New cases range from a skydiver who is seemingly stabbed mid-air to a murder on a golf course and many more.
Season nine of FATHER BROWN stars Mark Williams (Harry Potter) as the priest citizen-sleuth who with wit and sharp intellect works his way through a series of mishaps and clues to expose the truth. In the new season, a sleepy fictional Costwold village is stirred by dastardly deeds as Father Brown searches for forgotten treasure in a 15th-century castle as well as races against the clock to unmask a murderer at a masquerade-themed New Year’s Eve celebration. Based on the character created by G.K. Chesterton, the hit UK series originally debuted in 2013 and marks its 100th episode in season nine.
