KCET Receives Ten Local L.A. Emmy® Award Nominations Recognizing Excellence in Programming

acclaimed flagship news magazine SoCal Connected.

CA - June 28, 2012 - KCET, the nation's largest independent television station
serving Southern and Central California, is proud to announce that it has
received ten nominations for Los Angeles Area Emmy® Awards by the Academy of Television Arts &
Sciences.
The
station's nominations include seven for its flagship hard-hitting weekly news
magazine, SoCal Connected; one for a
special series on the backyard gardening movement Edible Garden: Breaking Ground; and two for Live @ the Ford, a cultural enrichment series of diverse performances at the historic Ford Amphitheatre
sponsored by the LA County Arts Commission.
This
past week, KCET was honored with 17 LA Press Club awards, with 16 going to the hard-hitting investigative news
series, SoCal Connected.
The local Emmy® Awards
will be presented at the 64th Los Angeles Area Emmys ceremony on
Saturday, August 11, 2012, at the Television Academy's Leonard H. Goldenson
Theatre.
