station serving Southern and Central California, invites viewers to journey
back in time to the ancient Roman Empire with the BBC's 1976 epic television
miniseries, I, Claudius,
beginning Sunday May 6 at 9 p.m.

Winner
of three Emmys®, four BAFTAs and one of Time magazine's "100 Best TV Shows
of All Time," I, Claudius, is a riveting tale of ambition, debauchery, and
intrigue, remaining one of the most popular and acclaimed dramas on public
television.  Set during one of history's
most fascinating eras, the acclaimed miniseries traces the lives of the last of
the Roman emperors, spanning time from Augustus to Claudius--a stuttering
scholar who learns early to play the fool to stay alive.   

The
plot is based on Robert Graves' novels, I, Claudius and Claudius the God, and stars
Derek Jacobi (The King's Speech, Cadfael); Siân Phillips (The Age of Innocence);
Brian Blessed (Hamlet); and John Hurt (The Elephant Man).  Patrick Stewart (Star Trek), George Baker (The
Ruth Rendell Mysteries), Margaret Tyzack (Cousin Bette), and James Faulkner (The
Bank Job) also star.
