Miranda Hallett
Dr. Miranda Cady Hallett has conducted ethnographic fieldwork in El Salvador since 1998 and with Salvadoran immigrant communities in the U.S. since 2004. Her teaching and research interests range over Latin American studies, globalization and inequality, immigration, citizenship law and labor rights, and applied anthropology. Miranda is also an engaged public anthropologist with a commitment to civil rights and social justice movements. Many of her courses incorporate community service and experiential learning.
Professor Hallett previously taught at Otterbein University, where she was honored by a nomination for Best New Teacher of the Year Award (2011) and was granted the Center for Community Engagement’s Citizen Teacher Award (2012).
