Melissa Hidalgo

Melissa Mora Hidalgo holds a Ph.D. in Literature and teaches classes in Chicana/o studies and women's, gender, and sexuality studies at CSU Long Beach and CSU Fullerton. Hidalgo is the author of Mozlandia: "Morrissey Fans in the Borderlands" (Headpress, 2016) and recently completed a Fulbright Fellowship at the University of Limerick in Ireland. Hidalgo's writing has appeared in the New York Times, Gay Magazine, Boom California, and KCET.org. She is also a senior culture writer for the James Beard Award-winning site, L.A. Taco. A native of the San Gabriel Valley, Hidalgo was born in Montebello and lives in Whittier.
