Kara Young
Dr. Kara Young is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at The Ohio State University. She studies how inequalities of race, class and place shape people's daily food consumption practices and food related health aspirations in urban contexts. Along with her academic work, Dr. Young has 10 years of experience organizing, teaching, writing, and public speaking on food systems and social inequality. Originally from Cleveland Ohio, she received her PhD in sociology from the University of California, Berkeley and her BA in sociology from Brown.
