Kamren Curiel

Kamren Curiel is a third-generation Xicana who was born in East L.A. and raised in South San Gabriel. She studied Journalism at San Francisco State University, where her passion for social activism and La Raza studies grew. An internship at San Francisco Mission's El Tecolote newspaper led to a career writing for the L.A. Times, Latina magazine, Voto Latino, Huffington Post, Remezcla.com and L. A. Taco. She resides in El Sereno with her husband, two daughters and anxiety-ridden dog Bidi.

Gustavo Dudamel's Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles (YOLA) found its permanent home in the lavish Judith and Thomas L. Beckmen YOLA Center in Inglewood. Designed by renowned architect Frank Gehry, the center is designed to serve as a space for underserved youth musicians to learn.
Different types of piñatas are on display in white vitrines or hung on the ceiling and walls.
There has never been a piñata exhibit in L.A. until now. A new exhibit at Craft in America celebrates the art of this beloved Latinx cultural icon.
