Brittani Orona
Brittani Orona is an enrolled member of the Hoopa Valley Tribe and completed her M.A in Public History at California State University, Sacramento (CSUS). She graduated with a B.A. in History from Humboldt State University. Brittani is currently a Doctoral Student at UC Davis in Native American Studies with a Designated Emphasis in Human Rights. Brittani focuses on visual sovereignty in dam removal efforts of the Hupa, Yurok, and Karuk on the Klamath RIver Basin. Her work centers itself in the remaking of environmental justice history through indigenous produced protest art, photography, land-based pedagogy, and film production. She also works for the State of California as an Environmental Justice and Tribal Affairs Specialist.
