Anissa Durham is a freelance reporter, focused on investigative pieces based in San Diego, CA. She writes about K-12 education, local infrastructure issues, prison misconduct and city government. She graduated in the fall of 2021 with a bachelor's in marketing from National University and has written for The San Diego Union-Tribune, Los Angeles Times, Voice of San Diego and inewsource. Omo Moses, now a math activist like his father, Bob Moses, remembers when he realized his father was more than just his dad. At school, he was told a great hero from the Civil Rights Movement was coming to visit. After seeing his dad, he "had a sense that who he was meant a lot to people — beyond just being my dad." After his death, we remember how the Harlem boy became a beloved activist, educator, visionary and leader.
