From Building Site to Broadcast Center

Support Provided By

In the spring of 1972 the FCC granted a construction permit to the Coast Community College district. Shortly thereafter, a television transmitter tower was built, and a building on the Golden West College campus, previously known as "unit 17," was stocked with state of the art broadcast equipment. This would become the telecommunication center, the facility that would house KOCE TV.

Watch and see how KOCE went from building site to broadcast center, and get a glimpse of our very first broadcast day.
