Support for the AAPI Community
PBS SoCal, KCET and Link TV stand firmly against all acts of racism, violence, prejudice and hate. We must all come together to end discrimination, and that includes attacks on the Asian American and Pacific Islander communities.
We believe in creating a community where people are inspired to learn more about each other, do more to solve societal issues, and become their best possible selves.
We have — and will always — provide a platform to amplify local and national stories of the Asian American and Pacific Islander communities. We recognize the history of violent and exclusionary treatment of these communities, including internment and the discriminatory practice of redlining in the nation, and even in Southern California. As we acknowledge these troubling histories, we also strive to shine a spotlight on the brilliant contributions and influence these communities have had on all aspects of American society, from arts, culture and cuisine to policy and governance. This includes locally produced series like "Broken Bread" and "The Migrant Kitchen" as well as the recently produced documentary series "Asian Americans," which highlights the role that Asian Americans have played in shaping the nation’s story.
