Why it matters: The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Los Angeles Police Department, city of Los Angeles and L.A. County Supervisor Lindsey Horvath’s office collaborated to create the unified PCH pass, according to the city of Malibu.

Access is still limited to Palisades and Malibu residents who live in the Palisades Fire burn areas, school buses and essential businesses, with law enforcement officials reviewing eligibility on a case-by-case basis.
