Q&A immediately following with director George Nolfi (The Adjustment Bureau) and writer Niceole Levy.

The true story of two African American entrepreneurs, Bernard Garrett (Anthony Mackie) and Joe Morris (Samuel L. Jackson), who in the 1950s take clever but serious risks circumventing the racial limitations of the era. They recruit a working-class white man, Matt Steiner (Nicholas Hoult), and train him to pose as the head of their business empire while they pose as a janitor and a chauffeur. In time, Garrett and Morris become two of the most successful and wealthiest bankers and real estate owners in the country with Steiner as their front man.

The film screens at 7:00 p.m. at the ArcLight Cinemas in Sherman Oaks. Immediately following the screening, Deadline’s chief film critic Pete Hammond, who can also be seen on KCET’s Must See Movies, will moderate a Q&A session with director George Nolfi (The Adjustment Bureau) and writer Niceole Levy. “The Banker” will be released by Apple TV on December 6, 2019 and will mark its world premiere as the closing night film of AFI Fest on November 21 at the TCL Chinese Theatre.

The winter season of the KCET Cinema Series runs October 22 through December 10. The winter series is sold out and there will not be walk-up admissions available for the screenings.
