7 SAG Award Nominee Films Featured at the KCET Cinema Series
The Screen Actors Guild Award nominations were released this morning and many of the films nominated were featured in the KCET Cinema Series. The KCET Cinema Series screens films before their local theatrical release, and as you can gather from the list below, it is the go-to event for anyone who wants to watch some of the best films of the year. Silver Linings Playbook
Both Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence were nominated for Best Actor in this film directed by David O. Russell. The director stopped by after the screening to talk about making the film and working with the actors. The film was also nominated for Outstanding Performance by Cast, with Robert De Niro snagging a Best Supporting Actor nomination for himself.
Lincoln:
The biographic film epic directed by Steven Spielberg was the opening night film at the KCET NoHo Cinema Series. Not only did it receive an Outstanding Performance by Cast nomination, the film received a Best Actor nomination for Daniel Day-Lewis and Best Supporting Actor nominations for Sally Field and Tommy Lee Jones.

The Impossible:
Naomi Watts was nominated for Best Female Actor in the film about a family's struggle during the 2004 tsunami that hit Southeast Asia.
Argo:
Actor/Director Ben Affleck's film about a rescue operation during the 1979 Iranian hostage crisis garnered an Outstanding Performance by Cast nomination and a Best Male Actor in a Supporting Role nomination for Alan Arkin.
The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel:
The film about a group of British retirees won audience favorite at the Spring KCET Cinema Series. It has been nominated for an Outstanding Performance by Cast and a Best Female Actor in a Supporting Role for Maggie Smith.
The Sessions:
John Hawkes received a Best Actor nomination for his role in the film about a paralyzed man trying to lose his virginity. Helen Hunt was nominated for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for her portrayal of a sex surrogate.
Les Miserables:
Screening at the KCET Cinema Series Tuesday, December 18th, the film, which is released December 25th, has already recieved critical praise. It has received a Best Actor nomination for Hugh Jackman and Best Actor in a Supporting Role nomination for Anne Hathaway. It has also been nominated for a Best Outstanding Performance by Cast.
