How to Download the PBS App on Your VIZIO SmartCast TV

The PBS Video app is available on VIZIO SmartCast Smart TVs. The app comes pre-installed and is free to activate.

If your VIZIO SmartCast TV supports the PBS Video app, you can find the app in the scrollable list of apps on the VIZIO TV's home screen, or perform a search on your VIZIO TV.

1. Create a PBS Account

We recommend creating a PBS account before you download the app.

• Be sure to use your personal email when signing up with PBS
• Create an account here.

If you already have an account, please move on to step 2.

2. Activate Your PBS App Channel

• When you first open the PBS Video app, you will receive an alphanumeric code to activate the app at pbs.org/activate on your mobile or computer 
• The code you receive will be unique to your device. 
• Follow the link above on your computer or a web browser on another device, and then enter your alphanumeric activation code in the white field indicated on the screen. 
• After entering your code, select the Continue option. 

3. Sign in to Your PBS Account

• A new screen will appear asking you to sign in with a Facebook, Google, Apple ID, or PBS login account. Select one of these four options, or select the option to create a new PBS account.  
• If you have the Passport benefit, log in with your Passport-linked account. A login account is required to activate the app as the app offers account-specific features such as saving videos and shows to personalize your viewing experience. 

You’re all done!

• Return to your VIZIO SmartCast TV's PBS Video app. The screen will update to now show the app's home screen where you can begin exploring and viewing our available offerings.

When you contributed to PBS Socal | KCET, you should have received an email with a link to activate Passport. Just click the link in the email to create your login. Once you do that, you’ll be able to use that same login to watch video on the PBS app on your Roku, Apple TV, Fire Stick, phone or tablet - or here at pbssocal.org.
