How to Download the PBS App on Your Fire TV | PBS SoCal

1. Create a PBS Account

We recommend creating a PBS account before you download the app.

If you already have an account, please move on to step 2

2. Search for the PBS Video app

In Step 2, you'll need to locate the PBS Video app in the Amazon Firestick Channel Store.

  • To download the PBS Video app, hover over on Magnifying Glass Icon  to search 
  • Type in PBS Video on the search bar 

3.Download and Install the PBS Video app

Once you've found the PBS Video app, you'll be able to add the channel to your library by downloading the application. After you've added the PBS Video app, you'll be able to open it once it finishes downloading.

  • Click PBS Video 
  • Click Download 
  • The channel will now appear on your main screen 

4. Activate the PBS Video App

When you first download the PBS Video app to your Amazon Fire device, the app will need to be activated before you can begin streaming videos.

  • Open the app to see a message that the app must be activated.
  • Select Activate Now
  • Use your computer or a mobile device to visit pbs.org/activate
  • Enter your device's unique activation code in the "Activation Code" field. Click Continue.

5. Sign in to your account.

  • You are taken to a new page asking you to sign in with a Google, Facebook, or PBS account.
  • If you do not have one of these three account options, select "Don't have a PBS account? Create one here" or see step 1 for instructions to create a PBS account using a web browser.

*If you have the Passport membership benefit, sign in with the same account you used when you activated Passport. If you sign in with a different email address, you will not be signed in with your Passport account and will be unable to watch Passport videos.

When you contributed to PBS Socal | KCET, you should have received an email with a link to activate Passport. Just click the link in the email to create your login. Once you do that, you’ll be able to use that same login to watch video on the PBS app on your Roku, Apple TV, Fire Stick, phone or tablet - or here at pbssocal.org.
