3 Sparkling Wine Cocktails For The Holidays
You should serve up some fancy cocktails for the holidays! These three, all bubbly and thematic, were created by Brooklyn-based mixologist Katie Stipe. She used a specific brand of sparkling wine, Jaillance, but we think you could get away with another. They'll all impress your guests.
A la Minute
1 ounce Gin
.5 ounce Cynar
.5 ounce lemon juice
.5 ounce simple syrup
Jaillance Crémant de Bordeaux Brut
Celery rib
Directions:
Shake ingredients and strain over ice into rocks glass. Top with 3 ounces Jaillance Crémant de Bordeaux Brut, and garnish with long slice of celery rib.
French Connection
.5 ounce Pear Eau de Vie
.5 ounce Benedictine
.5 ounce St. Germain
.25 ounce fresh lemon juice
1 dash Aromatic Bitters
Jaillance Clairette de Die
Bosc Pear
Directions:
Shake ingredients and strain into coupe glass. Top with 2 ounces Jaillance Clairette de Die, and garnish with slice of Bosc Pear.
Autumn Cobbler
1 orange
.5 ounce simple syrup
2 ounces Amontillado Sherry
Jaillance Clairette de Die
Cinnamon sticks
Directions:
Muddle 2 orange slices in .5 ounce simple syrup, then add 2 ounces of dry sherry. Shake ingredients and strain over crushed ice in a Collins glass. Top off with 3 ounces Jaillance Clairette de Die. Finish with freshly grated cinnamon, and garnish with an orange slice & cinnamon stick.
