Hollywood Stars Walk PBS's 'Blue Carpet' at Los Angeles Premiere of 'Hope in the Water,' New Three-Part Climate Documentary Series Debuting June 19

On Thursday, June 6, PBS hosted a "Blue Carpet" premiere event for its new climate documentary series 'Hope in the Water.' Co-hosted by Fed by Blue, St. Supery Vineyards and Hydrow, the premiere event took place at The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures' Ted Mann Theater in Los Angeles.

Close to 300 guests gathered to receive a sneak peek of the PBS program paired with a panel discussion that included Executive Producer and James Beard award-winning chef Andrew Zimmern, thirteen-time Emmy award-winning producer/writer and Executive Advisor David E. Kelley, actor/environmental enthusiast Shailene Woodley, series showrunner/director Brian Peter Falk and Nature Conservancy's Dune Lankard. The screening/panel event was followed by a reception featuring responsibly sourced seafood menu items. 'Hope in the Water,' will debut on PBS stations (Check Local Listings) and the PBS app on Wednesday, June 19.

PBS Chief Programming Executive and General Manager, General Audience Programming Sylvia Bugg welcomed guests to a preview of 'Hope in the Water.' Exclusive clips of the show were followed by a Q&A moderated by Deadline's chief film critic Pete Hammond that was opened up to attending guests as well. A reception followed where guests celebrated the new series while drinking wines from St. Supery and passed bites from Wolfgang Puck Catering that included mini kombu leaf tacos and open-faced trout sliders. Diverse menu choices like kelp noodle summer rolls and kelp falafel were intentionally selected and designed to start a conversation around themes in the show.

'Hope in the Water' is a new three-part PBS documentary series coming to PBS stations and the PBS app on Wed., June 19. Alongside environmental enthusiasts Baratunde Thurston, Martha Stewart, José Andrés and Shailene Woodley, the series travels the globe to uncover solutions and practices helping to protect our oceans and waterways from climate change and the world’s growing demand for food. Audiences meet fishers, water farmers, scientists, chefs, home cooks and environmental activists all working together to ensure the longevity of our oceans, waterways and the communities and people who rely on them.
