Clay Hickson x PBS SoCal Collaboration

This campaign ended on April 4, 2025. Thank you to everyone who participated!
PBS SoCal is excited to announce this year's featured artist for our annual local artist collaboration. We teamed up with Los Angeles-based artist Clay Hickson for an exclusive collection you won’t want to miss!
The Clay Hickson x PBS SoCal collection offers a unique perspective on communication through American Sign Language while highlighting the beautiful features of Southern California. This vibrant and eccentric art style is featured on two options; a hoodie and a 500-piece puzzle. The deadline to get yours is April 4.
PBS SoCal's artist collaborations continue to celebrate creativity and culture values by partnering with local artists.

Meet Clay Hickson
Clay Hickson is a Los Angeles based illustrator and graphic designer. He grew up amongst the redwoods, apple orchards and wineries of Sebastopol, CA and later studied printmaking at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. His work has been featured in The New York Times, Bon Appétit, Apartamento, Netflix, Herman Miller, The Eames Institute, and Moog as well as countless concert posters, album covers and band t-shirts. Alongside his wife and fellow illustrator, Liana Jegers, Clay is also the co-founder of Caboose Books — an independent publisher of limited-edition artist prints and books. Together, they spent five years producing a monthly print magazine called The Smudge. With a wink and a nod, The Smudge sought to educate its readers on the day's most pressing subjects all while experimenting with design, form, and humor.
