Long associated with public television since day one, the emergence of digital media meant that the KCET brand had to evolve with the times. Coupled with the reality of forging an independent future, in the fall of 2010, the station invested more into its web presence by expanding its online team.
The station began to launch new blogs and digital projects, which later sprouted into successful brands like KCET Food, L.A. as Subject, Ballot Brief, and ReDefine. Combined with existing digital series like Web Stories and Departures, website traffic began to increase substantially over the years.
